Boston Redsox
I hear a lot of Redsox fans complaining that the Redsox didn't really upgrade when they aquired Adrian Gonzales and signed Carl Crawford. Most of these fans feel that the stats that they gave up (Victor Martinez and Adrian Beltre) are roughly the same as what they got in return. Well I personally think that Gonzales and Crawford will blow away the stats of Martinez and Beltre. This I think will be especially true if the predictions of what Gonzales will do in Fenway Park come close to being true. The name of the game in Baseball is runs scored, and Gonzales and Crawford combined for a combined 40 more runs than Martinez and Beltre last season. Keep in mind that Gonzales played on a Padres team where he was the only true run producer. He also played in a very pitcher friendly park for half the season. It should be a fun season to watch in Beantown!
Michael Young
Why is it News that Michael Young reported to camp after demanding a trade from the Texas Rangers prior to the start of Spring Training? Is it because he is a professional baseball player acting professionally, and that is surprising? Michael Young, from what I have read, is one of the more likeable people in baseball, and it should not be news that he is doing his job while not wanting to be there. He has now joined the rest of the working class who are not happy with their jobs.
